How to make the invisible emotional and psychological impact of victim blaming tangible and understandable to the wider public?

Not My Fault is an immersive exhibition created with Fairspace about victim blaming after sexual violence and boundary-crossing behavior.
The project started from the painful reality that people who have experienced harm are often met with blame, doubt, silence or harmful reactions, forcing them to carry shame that was never theirs to begin with.
Together with Fairspace, we translated these hidden emotional experiences into Nia’s Diary, a collective diary built from real stories and transformed into a physical environment of suspended pages, intimate lighting, written passages, visual works and interactive responses.
By letting visitors step inside these fragments of memory, judgment and reflection, the exhibition showed how everyday reactions can either deepen someone’s wound or become part of their healing.
